My inquiry question is how can I use landscapes to tell the story behind the memories from each inspired photo.
I feel that my most successful project has to be sustained investigation would have to be number five. I like the material I used for it and I think it was a good way for me to show detail.
The project that seems to be the least successful would have to be number four. The material I chose to use was a new material for me to work with and as time went on through the project things just started to get worse. Therefore the turnout was not what I was going for, I want to go back and revise this project.
The hardest part of my sustained investigation so far would have to be how can I show the story to other views. Of course, for me, I know the back story but it's hard for me to find a way to show it in my art.
How I've been problem-solving in my artwork is experimenting and thinking out every aspect going into my work so if faced with an issue I can get past it. But also take my time, if something isn't going as planned then take a step back and come back to it with new eyes. Often working for too long limits my brain on how I can create.
Materials I want to work with moving forward would have to be specific materials that tie into the landscapes. Something that represents the trip as a whole or even just the dirt from the road I took the photo on. I like to use bright colors to represent my pieces but sometimes I need to just take the more realistic approach.
My work is developing by staying away from my comfort in materials taking risks and using materials I've never used before. But im also starting to add more and more detail into my project and not having it all be color sections.
Major takeaways from my feedback were to have more contrast, switch up the colors from super brights, switch up perspectives, and add more detail and texture. I feel this is all super good feedback that can help take my pieces to another level. Overall I think the biggest one is to have them tell a story and make them directly connect to my inquiry.
