Mom, thanks for your call...thought I'd share with you the poem that Susan composed an hour ago for a birthday party we're going to at 8 PM tonight. I first met Nikki at Charity Hospital before Susan and I were married....and our friendship continues. [Roger]
To Nikki, On Turning Sixty
Is Sixty just another number?
A milestone to some, to others
Ten added years of life and its experiences since 50,
So, what have we learned, how have we matured?
What have we given back to those we love,
And to those less fortunate than ourselves?
You, my friend, have been a light in the darkness
A beacon of hope for those lost in the tempest
A woman of faith, courage and conviction
Comforting those who need a kind word
Giving to others your strength and wisdom,
Yes, Sixty is a glorious number....
Especially when you love and care so deeply
And live your life the way that God intended
Thank you, my friend
Susan
