To Marilyn by Susan Rochat
TO MARILYN
What do you say in the face of death?
Is it even possible to measure
The loss of a Mother, wife, sister, friend
Someone we all counted on; a veritable treasure.
Befriending all who came her way,
Reaching out to children, troubled and alone,
Giving herself freely, without reservation
To those in need of family and home.
Generous beyond measure, accepting, nonjudgmental
She towered above us in her faith and love
And now the Lord has called this devoted daughter
To her eternal home with Him above.
Though she has left and winged her way to Heaven,
May we like her befriend those souls in need
For in the face of death we have assurance,
That Christ is risen, and we will meet again, indeed.
