To Dr. Prak Deetanna on his Retirement
April 17, 2003
By Susan Rochat
Dr. Prak, you’ve been such a blessing in countless ways
Your ministry among us has set our hearts ablaze
We can’t begin to thank you for your faithfulness, and praise
The Lord God who brought you to us...we are grateful and amazed.
Thirty three years ago you came to us, a young and gifted man
Tireless in your efforts to share God’s love with black, white and tan
You brought the church together and made us understand
That race and culture matters not in God’s salvation plan.
Your bride Aimon you met and married in these hallowed halls
The children grew among us, we watched as they grew strong and tall
A gentle quiet spirit you showed, ever loving and so humble
Your strength and faithfulness to God we knew would never crumble.
You brought us joy, you loved and cared,
Man’s praise you did not seek;
Rewards in heaven will greet you someday
For the Lord himself said long ago: “blessed are the Meek”.
Thank you, Prak, for your many years of loving service to all of use at North Avenue
