Hope I don't bore you with so many of Art's messages today ... but I'm catching up on mail ... and he's one of the few preachers in my life whose messages I read!! Cheers. Roger

tonight some things that Nathalie has shared with me lately - I try to get more from her and if or when I do will send them to you. back to early life: she told how every Christmas eve dad (I called him dad so will use that term for him always) would say he had to go out to see if the animals were ok so he would go out and then Santa would come in--the kids were so sorry that daddy missed Santa but then one time
10/7/2002
-Nathalie gave Santa a big piece of candy and he took it and ate and Nathalie said with big eyes - "Santa you eat just like my daddy" was some time before she found out Santa was her daddy. Her School Daze: for some years she went to a little one room school about 2 miles from their home and since there were four of the kids to go they would drive in a buggy or one horse cart when possible and sled when snow time came. but for the cart or buggy she drove a shetland pony that was hard to manage she would have to tell you about its antics but she did get there and back - the school had a barn for the horses to be in during school hours, during the cold weather dad had made a big box for the sled and had put a coal burning stove in it so they were warm to and from school -drove two horses to that sled (I rode in that same sled once - we were there and dad had to go to Glenburn so Conrad and I and I think also
John went with him --well about the time we started back it started to snow and blow =wow what a blizzard and dad couldn't see through the window in front to drive so Conrad and I got out and walked along beside the horses heads to keep them from going into the ditch wow was glad when we got back home. some thought the stove was dangerous but being warm far outweighed the danger so it stayed in there. Nathalie graduated from High school when she was 16 and was Valedictorian and since College wouldn't take a person under 18 she worked for two years before going to Northwestern Bible School (I am sure glad she had to wait cause if she had gone then I would not have met her she would have been through by the time I was there or at least a senior and no senior would date a mere freshman) another story: one day in India she and another Missionary with the kids were in our jeep and went to the river just to play around for a bit in the sand. well time to head for home
where was the key? frantically they kicked around in the sand and suddenly there the key popped up --talk about God showing where to kick --with all that sand and they had walked all over the area. In Hawaii one day she went with a group of women from our area to the Iolani Palace in Honolulu at the invitation of the governor's wife and while there they were given a tour of the Palace and the Governor's wife asked if anyone could play that big beautiful piano - well Nathalie sat down and played "Jesus Lover Of My Soul" wonder how many preacher's wives got to play on that great piano in the Iolani Palace in Honolulu? really wish you all could know more about her life but as of now it is difficult for her to put things together. but I thank God for the fact that we are still together. a week from Saturday we will celebrate the 68th anniversary of our engagement... will come knocking at your door sometime soon with more memories May God richly bless all of you with His love and mine Me
