Thanksgiving Prayer
In the majestic mountains,
In the mysterious seas,
In starry skies at moonlight,
You have your power revealed.
In flights of birds in winter,
In bulbs that bloom in spring,
In brooks and rocks and meadows,
Your hand in everything.
With thanks for rugged mountains
For oceans wide and deep
For starry skies at moonlight,
For restful nights of sleep.
For birds of varying colors
And blooms of vivid hue
We thank you for your creation
Which each day you renew.
We thank you Lord for loved ones
Those gone before and dear,
With thanks for what they taught us
Your Word they did revere.
At this Thanksgiving season
Your blessings may we spread
To those in need around us
Who need their daily bread.
Lord grant us hearts so tender
Lord give us eyes to see
The weary and forgotten
Souls only known to Thee.
For you were once among us
A babe and then a Man
Though heralded by angels
God had for you a plan.
A plan for all us mortals
Redemption through the Cross
You gave your life so we might live
You suffered pain and loss.
We ask for hearts o'erflowing
With gratitude and love
For your work of salvation
And blessings from above.
