Hope all's well with you ... and if you travel to the Florida panhandle this summer or fall, hope you'll consider a stop in Atlanta. Love from your
Atlanta family. Roger

have been thinking a lot lately about those early days of Nathalie's and my life and meeting her family so decided to share it with you all.
the Thanksgiving week end after we were engaged we went to Glenburn to meet Nathalie's family (had met Kathryn at Northwestern Bible School but not the rest so: we went by train (Great Northern) to Minot and her dad was to meet us there. well he came in their 1925 Model T Sedan and along with him was a neighbor man and Nathalie's sister Myrna. well that sedan wasn't big = and we each had a suitcase and since there was no carrier or trunk those days on a model T, we put the suitcases in the back seat and Myrna and Nathalie and I rode there-- so little sister sat on my lap: I got to thinking I will have a little sister –growing up I wished I had a little sister all the sisters were Big and they were tough every morning they carefully checked hands, ears, clothes before we went to school and how they could scrub ears- even used corn meal with water to wash dirty hands but a little sister wouldn't do that -- then meeting the rest of the family. Mom, Conrad, John, and baby Arlin. Was easy to meet Dad - his first words when Nathalie introduced us "Well so this is our new son" so I felt welcomed by him but Mom was a bit more reserved and those boys: wasn't sure about them-- they were something. when Nathalie and I were visiting some friends of hers they got into her suitcase and also mine and dressed in our clothes and then made a big time out of it - even Mom was tickled at that and dad thought it truely funny. (confess I wasn't too sure when I heard it) then I remember --not long before that a man had left an almost brand new hat in the cloak place at Miller's Cafeteria where I worked, and since he didn't come back for it in 30 days the one in charge of the lost and found gave it to me - a perfect fit. I had it and John put it on and it was also there a perfect fit and looked better on him than it did on me so I gave it to him and he confided to me that that day he had prayed for a hat-and now he had one..made me feel good. then after Nathalie and I had settled in Lone Tree and the folk had decided to move to
p 2
Washington State dad had to go to Bismarck for some special business so I took him and John there in our 28 Chev Coupe -- while there dad cleared up his business and then they went to car dealer who had been recommended to them and bought their big Sedan--I can still see John as he got behind the wheel of that beautiful big car, he was wearing that
hat and sitting tall, wow was he careful--I drove behind them on the way home and sort of wished he would go a bit faster - but that day he was going to see that there were no marks on that car. time has gone and now John is in Glory with His Lord and Savior and also with his dad and mom --- but I thank God for those memories, and for you to whom I share my memories and ramblings, with Love Me
