The Indians have started their 2019 fall season with high hopes and goals. Multiple teams earned spots in the District XI playoffs last season and will look to repeat this year.

The Lehighton girls field hockey team won the District XI A championship last season in an exciting game against Northwestern Lehigh. The team has gone 4-3 this season, with tough losses against teams including Holy Redeemer and Liberty. With a convincing overtime win against Palmerton on Saturday, September 14, the Indians have high hopes for the rest of the season.

Football has had impressive moments in their first four games of the season, posting wins against Schuylkill Haven and Marian Catholic. The Indians defense has been strong and consistent while the offense has struggled to put up points. Seniors Lucas Sangiuliano and Ben Schatz will look to keep the Indians rolling after a huge 40-6 win over Marian.

The boys and girls soccer teams have started their seasons with struggles. The boys soccer team was having offensive struggles, hardly scoring goals in their first games of the season. The girls are under a new head coach this year but have managed to pull off two straight wins. Both teams will look for more wins throughout the remainder of their seasons.

Volleyball has gone 4-3 on the season so far. They have posted wins against teams including Tamaqua, Saucon Valley, and Catasauqua. The team qualified for the District XI playoffs last year and look to be on their way again this season.

Cross country has been impressive in both girls and boys competition. Both teams have contributed to numerous victories at meets over teams including Pottsville, Blue Mountain, and Schuylkill Haven. The girls team placed 2nd at an early season invitational. Make sure to keep an eye out for personal and team growth in the coming weeks.

The golf team has proven to be impressive this season. Sophomore Jack Lorenz has had an incredible season so far. Lorenz and the rest of the team have worked hard and have already qualified for the District XI playoffs. Support the team on September 23rd at the Schuylkill Country Club!
