Little Women follows the journey of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March. Jo is trying to sell her stories, but the publishers are not interested. Her friend, Professor Bhaer, asks her to read him one of her stories. She begins to read “An Operatic Tragedy.” In this story, Clarissa is trying to escape the clutches of evil. When Clarissa thinks all hope is lost, Rodrigo appears to kill Braxton Prendergast. Professor Bhaer stops her abruptly. The play goes back two years earlier where we meet the other three sisters Beth, Amy, Meg and their mother. Jo “borrows” a tree from Mr. Laurence, and his grandson Laurie is introduced. At the Valentine’s Day ball, Meg meets Mr. John Brooke, a romantic. When Jo returns home, Amy has burned her story in the fire. Overwhelmed with feelings, Jo begins to write a new story. Laurie becomes like a brother to the March sisters. Meg announces that she is engaged. In the spring Marmee, their mother, heads to Washington to be with their father who was serving in the Civil War. One day Laurie returns and proposes to Jo, but she declines.

Jo is ecstatic when she hears that she has sold a story to the Weekly Volcano Press. In this story, Clarissa appears again. This time Hags, Trolls, and Monks, who all resemble someone in Jo’s life, appear. Jo’s sister, Beth, has fallen ill with Scarlet Fever and says she is not afraid to die. When Amy returns home with Aunt March from Europe, she announces that she is going to marry Laurie. At the end, Professor Bhaer tells Jo he wants to publish her story. Come to the show to find out the rest...
