The Date that Changed America

September 2019

On the morning of September 11, 2001 at 8:46 AM the first plane was hijacked and flown into the world trade center when shortly after another came. A plane then flew into the Pentagon and there was a fourth one coming but thankfully never reached its intended destination. These four attacks were coordinated by the islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda. The attacks killed 2,977 and injured over 6,000 others. This was the single deadliest terrorist attack in human history and the single deadliest incident for firefighters and law enforcement officers in the history of the United States. If you ask someone what they were doing when these attacks took place, they could tell you exactly. This date will forever be remembered by Americans. For days, months, and years America was and is still shocked by this awful act of terrorism. America was hurting, the first responders and all the people who helped in this scary time should forever be proud of themselves and each other for their bravery. We honor the people who died and who sacrificed their lives that day to save others. America will never forget this day but we will also always remember the bravery and unity we showed as a nation.
