Sarah Dessen’s contemporary young adult fiction story Once and For All shows that happiness and love can be found after tragic events. In Once and For All, Louna Barrett is a senior in highschool working with her mother at a wedding agency. Louna becomes blind about her love life until she makes a bet with Ambrose, the newly highered agent. The bet causes Louna to date many guys for seven weeks while Ambrose has to date one girl for seven girls. With the tragic loss of her last boyfriend, it had been a month or two until the bet was made and Ambrose came into her life at his mother’s wedding. In Once and For All, Sarah Dessen tries to show that even with a broken heart, it will not be broken forever, but it can be fixed by the most unexpected of people.
