Career Spotlight: Interior Design

An interior designer is someone who makes indoor rooms and areas safe, functional and beautiful by selecting decorative and essential items and determining space requirements. They listen to clients requests, requirements and goals for the interior of a space. Project costs are estimated by an interior designer as well as a timeline for how long a project may take. Interior designers purchase items and some items are installed by others while the designer observes and oversees the installment as well as the progression of installments. If someone would like to become an interior designer, they would need to have a bachelor’s degree relating to interior design. The average pay for an interior designer is $37,325 per year and their pay can start at $30,936 per year.
