The soup was being poured, slurped, and adored in Mr. Reenock’s art room on Thursday, November 20, 2014. The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) held a soup luncheon for the Lehighton Area High School faculty and staff to raise awareness of NAHS and its members. The luncheon was also created to raise money for a local food pantry. As part of the event, the NAHS members all made clay bowls by hand and each employee that participated ate their soup out of one of the bowls and got to take that bowl home with them.

“Our group strives to bring joy and inspiration to others through art,” said Mr. Reenock, who serves as the faculty advisor for NAHS.

This description of NAHS and its members definitely fits the organization. The National Art Honors Society is a program developed for students who enjoy and excel in art who want to spread their passion and inspire others with their love of art. Members of NAHS are generally students who have high achievements in art and other courses who also strive to be successful in their futures. Although the National Art Honors Society was founded in 1978, the Lehighton High School only joined as an official chapter last year.
