What are your crazy travel stories?

Hi, everyone. I just recently spent nine days in Central America, and was inundated with the flourishing culture of the region. As Ms. Frantz promised me, I was able to utilize my Spanish skills. For those of you interested in traveling, Mexico belongs on your list, and it was definitely

different than what we are used to. There are no lines on the road, mopeds are left on the side of the road, minors are served alcohol, and it’s 80 degrees in November. Honduras was even more of a shock. One of the poorest countries in the world, Honduras is not always the most desirable of traveling locations. Also, branding the country “Murder Capital of the World” does not help its image. And that’s no joke. Honduras has the highest homicide rate in the world. Further, not only was I blessed to spend my Thanksgiving stranded in the Murder Capital of the World, but I got to do this while a tropical storm was raging around me.

Despite my anxiousness about the setting, I did have the privilege of meeting people from 29 different nations around the world. Tropical storms, being served fried alligator by a server named Dewa from Indonesia, and being accused of stealing someone’s credit card in Honduras were just some of the highlights of my trip. What’s the most exotic place you’ve traveled to, and what are your fondest memories? Let us know and your experience could be shared!
