It’s a simple thing,

That’s what I’m told.

Just be confident

Just be bold.

Should I listen to my mind,

Or follow my heart?

What should I do?

Where do I start?

Take a few steps,

You’re on the right track.

You’ve come this far.

Don’t you dare look back.

They tell me it’s easy,

Just be strong.

I worry a lot,

What if I’m wrong?

My heart pounds

Inside my chest.

They say be calm,

I’m trying my best.

Can’t you do this?

What’s the matter?

My thoughts are jumbled

Like some kind of batter.

I guess I should go.

It’s getting late—

I been here for too long,

No more time to contemplate.

I move a bit closer

To get out of the crowd.

Now all I have to do

Is say it out loud.
