Precision Arts Challenge

Dance with Kim School of Performing Arts is a local dance studio located in Lehighton. I have been dancing at this studio for many years, and last year the competitive teams went to the Precision Arts Challenge, which is a national competition. We performed with our hearts and souls. Our team, Diamond was doing very well with all of the routines, but our jazz routine, “All that Jazz” was different. At the end of our dance we heard a loud buzzer, and then as we were exiting the stage we heard someone announce “you just witnessed a PAC attack”! A PAC attack occurs when the judges absolutely love your dance and want to see it again. Then you need to perform the dance for a second time, at the end of the night, and the audience chooses which dance was their favorite. The winner receives a banner and is then put into a competition against PAC attack winners from all over the country. When we finally realized what was going on, we cried of joy. After we performed our dance “All that Jazz” for the second time, we found out we would be entered into the nationwide voting competition! This competition also named “All that Jazz” as Best in Show for this competition! There are no words to describe the overwhelming feeling our team had, since this had never happened to us before. Over the remainder of 2019, there would be a great deal of voting on the Precision Arts Challenge website, as well as each like on the YouTube video. We honestly didn’t think we’d win, because we were against many large cities, such as Chicago. The voting lasted for about a year, and we won! The announcement came on New Year’s Day. A small town dance studio beat many big city studios!! This was very exciting for Dance with Kim, and all of the girls on the Diamond team! We couldn’t believe our dance, “All that Jazz'' won! We received $500 for the dance studio, and we also were given a pizza party, featured on Channel 13, highlighted in the Times News several times, and interviewed by a PAC representative.
