In That Summer, Haven McPhail is a 15 year old girl who is six feet tall and still growing. Haven deals with many things such as her parents’ divorce and her father, Mac McPhail’s remarriage to Lorna Queen. Not only does Haven have to deal with her father’s new marriage, but her sister Ashley’s too. When times would get rough and stress would come, Haven would think back to a certain summer that was made great by a certain person. As the story develops, Haven tells the readers about this person named Sumner. She would tell us about how her sister would always be happy around him. Haven finds out why her sister and Sumner broke up at the end of the story, and she is shocked. But in the end, Haven and her sister become close again, and Haven learns that her family will always be there for her. I would recommend reading this story because it has a good storyline, and I really enjoyed it.
