The Faim

Recently, I discovered an up and coming alternative/indie pop band called The Faim. They have four members, which consists of singer Josh Raven, bassist/keyboardist Stephen Beerkens, guitarist Samuel Tye and drummer Linden Marrisen. Previous members of the band included Sean Tighe and Michael Bono. The Faim is from Perth, Australia and was formed in 2014. In 2014, all of the band’s original members were still in high school.

The band got signed by BMG Rights Management in 2016. With the help of Pete Wentz, from Fall Out Boy, they produced their first single “Saints of the Sinners”. In March of 2018, The Faim began their first tour. This tour included 57 shows across 11 weeks in 7 different countries, they toured with Sleeping With Sirens and PVRIS in New Zealand.

Later that same year, The Faim went on another tour. With the help of Ashton Irwin, from 5 Seconds of Summer, they co-wrote another single, “Summer Is A Curse”. Their single made #12 on German Radio Charts and got featured in France’s Jeep commercial. In September 2019, they released their album “State of Mind” featuring “Amelie” , “Where The River Runs” and “Humans”.

The band’s first single was released in 2018, “Saints of the Sinners”, followed by “Midland Line” and “Summer is A Curse”. In 2019, they released “Fire”, another single. Followed by “Humans” and “Amelie” which were originally meant to be singles, but grew so quickly were later placed on the State of Mind album.

The band definitely has happy music along with a few slower, sad songs. Each song will find a way to draw you in. If you haven’t heard of them, I recommend you to check them out.
