Giving blood is important, but too few of us do it

You’re giving blood for the first time. You’re terrified of needles and you’re beginning to regret your decision to give blood. You know it will probably help some people, but don’t enough people give blood? Do you really need to do it? This will probably be the first and last time you do this.

The American Red Cross Association is always in need of blood donations. They provide over 40% of America’s blood supply. Up to three lives could be saved from one donation. Thirty eight percent of America’s population is eligible to give blood, but only ten percent actually do. If you didn’t sign up for this previous blood drive, make sure you sign up for the next one. Blood donations are desperately needed and you could save lives by enduring the discomfort of a needle. Advisor's Note: A BIG thank you goes out to Mrs. Steigerwalt for organizing our LAHS blood drive this year. We exceeded expectations. Kudos to Mrs. Steigerwalt and the entire LAHS community.
