Even though the arcs will be revamped with the 3rd edition, I’d like a clarification on the WD arcs.
The scenario is Attack on Yamamoto, so the Betty doesn’t have the tail nor the dorsal guns, but looks like the gun arcs would be able to cover the 6 o’clock line nevertheless.
LG: Left rear +30, high to low
RG: Left rear +30, high to low
Does this +30 truly include the line it borders (=6 o’clock), as these guns are mounted on the sides of the plane, and Betty isn’t the sleekest airframe.
The WD rule book is misleading. for +30 It says to add a 30 deg. wedge on either side of the gun arc. This is true only for the actual front and rear arcs. For the side front and side rear arcs it should have said only add the extra 30 arc touching the 3-9 line. Rear +30 would be areas B+C in the diagram.
to be specific - Right rear +30 and left rear +30 is meant to be right or left rear +30 degree wedge forward of the rear arcs 3-9 border line and does not include the rear arc at all.
In third edition terms that would be RG = 02-05, and LG = 07-10 clock lines.
