I was knee high to a grasshopper,
Wet behind the ears...
I had so many adventures,
Never had no fears...
An vivid imagination,
That drove my mother mad...
Always looking for answers,
Pestering dear old dad...
It got me always thinking,
I when I watched it on TV...
That if Superman could fly,
Then why oh why not me...
I grabbed the old umbrella,
Then a bed sheet for a cape...
And off to the back window,
Where I made a quick escape...
I jumped out the bedroom window
With a scream of shear delight..
But I didn't even stop to think,
To check out the flamin height...
I felt like it was forever,
As I went sailing through the air...
I never gave it thought,
I was blissfully unaware...
It was right about then,
I found out I couldn't fly...
My umbrella turned inside out,
Was I about to die...
I suddenly hit the ground,
With a loud resounding thud...
Lucky no bones were broken,
And not a drop of blood...
Yes I’m going to live,
Yet another day...
Everything is alright,
And it’s all a okay...
I was convinced I was invincible,
I was the man of steel...
I just can’t wait to tell all of my mates,
About this death defying deal...
So the years have now passed me by,
And I am little more mature...
No longer am I that boy,
Who was innocent and pure...
Many new adventures I will face,
A big kid is still at heart...
But now I approach them slowly,
Because now I'm wise and smart...
