I went down to the local,
To simply quench my thirst...
Does it really matter,
If I happen to be the first...
I'm not an alcoholic,
I just like the taste of ice cold beer...
Even if I'm there,
One hundred times a year...
You see some people depend on me,
It would be a mortal sin...
If I drove past my local,
Without quickly dropping in...
There is a wealth of knowledge,
That can be found at every bar...
Those questions can be answered,
Without out travelling very far...
There are marriage counsellors,
A knowledgeable bunch of mates...
When you spill your guts to these blokes,
They'll set the records straight...
So it's a little outing,
That leaves me in good stead...
When all those thoughts and questions,
Start filling up my head...
Go on and take the challenge,
Drop on in with a friend or two...
Sit down and exchange your stories,
While sipping on a brew...
It's then you realize,
I'm not an alcoholic as it seems...
But just an average bloke,
Who is simply sharing all my dreams....
