To Those Unspoken Heroes
To those unspoken heroes,
Whose names we can’t recall...
It’s time you were acknowledged,
For your achievements big and small...
You’re not a well known person,
You don’t hold some flash degree...
Those fancy bits of paper,
Don’t matter much to thee...
It’s your honesty and hard work,
That keeps on shining through...
To those who have them jobs,
That others don’t like to do...
It may be far less glamorous,
And the money is not so great...
You often go unnoticed,
As you do those jobs we hate...
You work behind the scenes,
In the chaos and the strife,
The ones we take for granted,
As we go about our life...
Working those early hours,
When most us are sleeping...
You’re not to be forgotten,
As I admire the jobs you keeping...
So when it’s time for those awards,
You should be in the running...
As you really deserve to win,
I think that you all are stunning...
You’re no lesser man than me,
Your job is just as good...
You have your self esteem,
You should be proud of where you’ve stood...
It’s people just like you,
That’s what matters most...
Hold your head up high,
As we all will make this toast...
To the unspoken heroes,
Whose name we can’t recall...
This time you are acknowledged,
For achievements big and small...
