Hard Yakka
Us poor old aussie battler’s,
Are struggling again once more…
As those greedy banks and landlords,
Come knocking at our door…
Eroding away our dreams,
Each and every week…
Then kicking us in the guts,
When we're on a losing streak…
It has become a flamin headache,
As your money slips away…
Just to keep above the debts,
Is the order of the day…
That 2-star mince looks acceptable,
Compared to its 5-star mate…
It’s a battle that you face each week,
Just to serve something on the plate…
The simple things in life,
Is now a luxury you can’t afford…
As you try to stretch the budget,
To feed your hungry hoard…
They have even done the unthinkable,
By raising the price of grog…
As now I drink the cheapest,
In Dan Murphy’s catalogue…
Yes, another hurdle for us all,
As we live the aussie dream…
It seems more of a nightmare,
Its enough to make you scream…
But we will prevail once more,
That’s without a doubt…
When the good times arrive again,
I’ll be the first to shout…
