Father’s Day
It’s Father’s Day ,
I can’t believe my eyes...
Another pair of socks,
What a big surprise...
This day of days,
Can be far from pleasant...
With all those kids out shopping,
For the old man's present...
Let's buy him a fancy tie,
As we really love our dad...
But it won't go too well,
With that singlet that he had...
They try so hard ,
I know it's not fair...
But I really just don’t need,
More socks and underwear...
A case of cold beer,
Will do the trick...
I bet they are on special,
So just be quick...
But my dreams are dashed,
The old girl’s stepped right in...
As she tells those kids,
With their angelic little grins...
Dad doesn't need,
To be bought no beer...
He’ll just get drunk,
And start acting queer...
I think that I,
Can set your minds at ease...
Let’s buy him some hankies,
Cause he likes to sneeze...
So it looks like,
Some things never change...
Old dad will get gifts,
That are sometimes strange...
It’s the thought that counts,
That's sad but true...
So I’ll just settle,
For a hug and a kiss from you...
