La Nina has arrived
It’s Spanish for little girl…
This weather event they say,
That has caused the clouds to swirl…
Weeks of steady rain,
With flooding here and there…
Confined to house arrest,
It seems too much to bare…
The salt shaker is clogged again,
And the walls are full of mould…
As temperatures rise and fall,
From humid hot to downright cold…
Then suddenly a burst of sunshine,
A reprieve from all this rain…
Time to explore outside,
Before its back again…
As I waded through the water,
My yard was now in flood...
I blew out my double plugger,
Then sank quickly in the mud…
I limped back to where I came from,
Frustrated and one thong less…
I could understand how Noah felt,
As I washed away the mess…
So, for now I retreat inside,
To the musty smell of mould…
To watch footy on tv,
With a couple cans of gold…
