Asylum Seekers
They come here in their thousands,
All looking for a start...
Across the Timor Sea,
From the land they did depart...
Aboard a make shift boat,
That would make you cringe with fear...
This cruise is run by men,
Who are out to profiteer...
The passengers are excited,
Although their packed in tight...
To seek asylum in Australia,
If it goes alright...
But many boats will sink,
When they reach open seas...
Spilling all their contents,
Which is full of refugees...
Hundreds of lives are lost,
In this disastrous event...
While our disagreeing politicians,
Sit around and just lament...
Come on and try a little harder,
You got to make a stand...
Stop fighting with each other,
Their lives are in your hands...
Who cares on where they're sent,
Be it Malaysia or Nauru...
These people need our help,
It’s the right thing we must do...
Some politician's maybe right,
Let them purchase their own fares...
It would stop all the smugglers,
And catch them unawares...
We all like it here,
In this land that we call home...
But you've got to have a heart ,
Don't just sit around and moan...
As many of these people,
No nothing else but fear...
So let's extend our friendship,
And welcome them all here !
