That’s Just Mining
After the day I had today,
I sure do have a thirst
I worked down in that mine,
my boiler nearly burst
Things never went to plan,
nothing was going right
The frustration kept building,
with no clear end in sight
We all have had enough,
there was no need to pretend
So we settled all our differences,
and we made it to the end
As we drove up from this mine,
our throats were really dry
The dirt was in our hair
and dust was in our eyes
We headed to showers
and quickly had a tub
Washed away the dirt
and met up at the pub
That first beer went down well,
it was so icy cold
Nothing beats the taste,
like a can of XXXX Gold
This yellow can of beer,
can solve the problems of the world
They all just disappear
when that golden ale is swirled
We were all close mates again,
laughing until it hurt
Forgetting about the day,
we had digging in that dirt
After we downed a few cold beers,
we headed for the mess
We all had something to eat,
then it was off to bed, I guess
Just a few short hours of sleep,
then it’s back down in that mine
To that dark and noisy place
where the sun will never shine.
