A message to those friends of mine,
As Christmas time draws near...
I wish I could be there with you ,
And celebrate with a beer...
There’s Gemma and Gus from WA,
Our neighbours who lived up the street...
They surely liked to party,
The best people you’d ever meet...
Then there’s the mob from Ingham,
Monica and Paul Tabone...
The greatest bunch of Italians,
That I have ever known...
And to all the Matthews,
We grew up when we were kids...
It helped shape a true friendship,
That couldn’t be bought for quids...
Tony and Gayle were there too,
When disco was still alive...
When we sang along to Abba,
And we watched the Bee Gees Jive...
Then there my old mate Wayne and Wendy,
Who has had a chequered past...
All those nights we spent on Bundy Rum,
How did our livers last...
Not to mention Wally and Sharelle,
And the family we all know well...
We’ve had our share of parties,
But the next day felt like hell...
Now I know there are a few people,
Who didn’t make the list...
My memory is not the best,
I hope you won’t be pissed...
Merry Christmas Lenny !
