The Tale Of Two Mines
Just out from Cloncurry,
where the sun always seems to shine
We are all doing our bit,
at this copper mine
There's Mount Dore and Osborne
and the rivalry is great
As they both think they are better
than others in the state
Osborne is called
the jewel in the crown
With roads and the mill,
it’s a bit like a town
Flash motel style rooms
and green grass to your door
It’s easy to see
its 5 star for sure
While back at Mount Dore,
amongst the hills everywhere
You’re heading back home
to wash the dust from your hair
Commonly called
the caravan park
Its rustic old charm
will soon leave its mark
They muster around
at the mess and the bar
Spinning the yarns
they’ve heard from a far
It’s just hard to decide
which mine is the best
Both have the same goals,
as they strive for their quest
So I’ll leave you it to you
to be the judge, and all
After you visit them both,
you make the call.
