RSU Orientation on Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES)ย
June 18, 2024 - Romblon State University (RSU), through the Office of Center for Alumni Relations and Employment Services, has partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to implement the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES). This collaboration exemplifies a shared commitment to providing financial assistance and valuable work experience to RSU students while enabling DOLE to promote employment opportunities and contribute to the development of the local workforce. The program aligns with the Philippine government's efforts to invest in its youth and build a skilled, competitive workforce for the future.
The following are the program objectives: Provide temporary employment opportunities for financially challenged students. Help students earn extra income to support their education expenses. Enable students to gain valuable work experience.
During the onboarding orientation, Engr. Kenreid F. Dela Vega, Assistant Director of OSAS, delivered the opening remarks and an inspiring message. Following this, Mr. Quidyn F. Penuliar, HRMO Admin Officer I, discussed the Policy and Guidelines for Personnel, ensuring that students understand their roles and responsibilities within the program.
Ms. Lelibeth G. Feller, CARES Staff, delivered the closing remarks on behalf of Dr. Elvin F. Gaac, CARES Director. She also facilitated the overall program, working closely with the other SPES beneficiaries to ensure a smooth and successful orientation.
This initiative reflects RSU's and DOLE's dedication to supporting students and fostering a culture of growth and opportunity.
