October 18, 2024 - RSU's International Relations Office successfully concluded the second session of its "Discover Thailand: Global Classroom Program this afternoon. Held in collaboration with Saint Louis College (SLC) in Bangkok, the program aims to connect students and faculty globally while fostering global citizenship through an exploration of Thai culture, language, and traditions.
The session, led by Professor Sukanda and students from SLC, featured an engaging blend of lectures and breakout activities. Highlights of the session included a focus on shopping conversations in Thai, ordering food at restaurants, and exploring famous Thai cuisine, such as Tom Yum and Mango Sticky Rice. The program also delved into Thai customs, the significance of the "wai" gesture, and the influence of Buddhism on Thai culture. The event also explored various Thai festivals, such as Songkran and Loy Krathong, which were discussed in detail, offering participants insights into how these festivals are celebrated in Thailand.
Participants of the session included faculty and students from the College of Education, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Accountancy, and the satellite campuses.
