July 31, 2024 โ Romblon State University (RSU) and Landbank Countryside Development Foundation, Inc. joined forces to enhance the financial capabilities of local farmers. Through the "FARMLIT" program, held on July 31-August 2, 2024, farmers from San Agustin gained crucial knowledge to navigate the challenges of modern agriculture.
The three-day training covered a range of financial topics designed to improve farmers' decision-making and access to financial resources. Participants, including barangay officials, expressed gratitude for the program's relevance to their communities, especially those in remote areas.
RSU's Director of Extension and Technical Advisory Services Office, Dr. Orfelina I. Manzo, emphasized the critical role of financial literacy in helping farmers adapt to the evolving agricultural landscape.
Selected RSU faculty members from the College of Business and Accountancy shared their expertise during the training sessions, which culminated in an awards ceremony recognizing participants' achievements.
By equipping farmers with stronger financial management skills, RSU and Landbank aim to foster sustainable growth within the agricultural sector of San Agustin, Romblon.
