August 23, 2024 - Romblon State University conducted a three-day Training-Workshop titled: The Quality Assured Competency-Based Learning Approach: Beyond Knowledge, Mastery & Skills, lastย August 21-23, 2024 at St. Giles Hotel, Makati City.
The training workshop was attended by RSU Top Officials, Deans, Campus Directors, Chairpersons, and Senior Faculty Members (programs with Licensure Examination, especially the Civil Engineering Department).
This training focused on equipping the participants on how to develop competency-based learning syllabi where assessment and grading are based on the students' achieved mastery of competencies.
It was also emphasized that faculty members should focus more on the critical thinking aspect of the students and the need for higher academic standards especially for programs with licensure examinations.
We extend our gratitude to the Guest Speaker: Dr. Lilian A. De Las Llagas, for sharing her comprehensive insights and excellent points in the Licensure Examination Performance Assessment,ย Programme Delivery Gap Analysis, Framework of Competency-based Learning, Sample Course Syllabus, and other related discussions. The participants engaged in activities focused on nurturing the student's knowledge, mastery and skills, using a Competency-Based Learning Framework.
This training workshop was facilitated by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, headed by Dr. Emelyn F. Montoya, and successfully left a valuable impact on setting higher academic standards.
