November 19, 2024 - the Center for Alumni Relations and Employment Services (CARES) of Romblon State University (RSU) organized a Job Orientation and Placement Seminar, benefiting 247 graduating students from the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Sciences (CAFES), San Andres Campus, and Calatrava Campus. The event, themed "Beyond the Walls: Launching Your Career with Skills and Confidence," aimed to equip students with essential tools and knowledge to navigate the competitive job market successfully.
The seminar offered practical sessions such as resume and cover letter writing workshops, mock interview demonstrations, and the use of AI-powered career readiness tools. Participants also engaged in the "Dream Job Vision Wall," where they shared aspirations and identified target companies to inspire their career journeys. In addition, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) facilitated National ID registration during the event, assisting students in fulfilling essential employment requirements.
The program featured inspirational messages from key university officials and experts. Dr. Mario A. Fetalver, Jr., Campus Director of San Andres Campus, highlighted the importance of career preparation in his opening remarks. Ms. Sheryll M. Fetalvero, Director of CARES, outlined the seminar's objectives, emphasizing the need for confidence and readiness in achieving professional success. Ms. Preexcy B. Tupas provided insights on crafting resumes with AI tools, while Mr. Kerby Val L. Manansala shared strategies for excelling in job interviews. Closing the seminar, Mr. Ryan C. Gadon, CARES Coordinator for San Andres Campus, encouraged graduates to pursue their goals with determination and optimism.
