December 1, 2024 - Romblon State University participated in an inception meeting at Kyoto Universityโs Uji Campus in Japan, laying the groundwork for potential research and development collaboration.
The meeting was hosted by ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ. ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ๐ต ๐๐ต๐บ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ผ๐๐๐ต of Kyoto Universityโs Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), specifically under the Water Resources Research Center (WRRC). Representing RSU was ๐๐ฟ. ๐๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐น๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ผ, the Vice President for Research, Extension, Development, and Innovation (REDi), who led discussions on building a partnership that aligns with both institutions' goals in research and innovation.
Joining the RSU delegation were faculty members and Engr. Jerome G. Gacu, a Ph.D. student and former RSU Research and Development Director.
Dr. Fetalvero also engaged with Filipino scholars affiliated with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Mariano Marcos State University.
The gathering highlighted a shared commitment to advancing research in disaster risk reduction, water resource management, and sustainable development.
