October 4, 2024 – RSU officially awarded the amount raised for the short film screening of "Skeytbord", the university's winning entry during the MIMAROPAlikula Competition, which features the journey of the resilience of RSU's PWD alumnus batch 2024, April M. Miñano.

The screening last September raised a total amount of thirty-four thousand seven hundred sixty pesos (34, 760 PHP), all for the expenses of review sessions of the biographic film's subject and main actor, Mr. Miñano. 

The funds raised were the result of the collective efforts and generosity of RSU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the rest of the community members who willingly availed tickets and donated the proceeds to the cause. 

The turnover ceremony was attended by the University President Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani with the University's Top Officials; Director of CARES, Ms. Sherryll M. Fetalvero; the TES Focal Person, Ms. Marie Tony C. Mantes; OMPA Director, Ms. Charevel F. Ferranco, and representative of the filmmakers, Mac Angel Capidos, who were all behind the production of the film and the fundraising project. 

The success of this activity reflects inclusivity and compassion of the university for all members of the PWD community and less privileged members of the institution. The project also became a platform for RSUvians to showcase their creativity and passion in the field of film production, demonstrating the power of making a difference through storytelling.

May "Skeytbord" continue to serve as a narrative and epitomy of hope to all individuals facing hard times, reminding them that resilience and determination triumph against adversities of life. Through this initiative, we hope to inspire and uplift those who need it most.

RSU extends its deep gratitude to those individuals who, in one way or another, helped in the success of the fundraising project.
