RSU Observes National Suicide Prevention Month with Compassion and Collective Actionย
September 2, 2024 โ Every September, Romblon State University joins the nation in commemorating National Suicide Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, fostering compassion, and strengthening support for individuals experiencing emotional distress. The Guidance and Counseling Services Office (GCSO) leads this month-long advocacy, encouraging the entire RSU community to stand together as a beacon of hope for those who may be silently struggling. Through simple acts of kindness, empathy, and connection, RSUvians are reminded that their presence and support can create life-changing impact.
To further promote a caring and responsive academic environment, the university offers its Online Internal Referral System, accessible via bit.ly/RSUGCSReferNow. Students who notice significant behavioral changes or signs of distress in their friends or classmates may use this confidential referral platform to request assistance directly from the Guidance Office. Throughout the month, GCSO will also roll out various initiatives to strengthen mental health awareness, highlight available support systems, and remind everyone that help is always available. Together, let us champion hope, prevent suicide, and foster a community where no one feels alone.
