August 27, 2024 - Romblon State University (RSU) recently celebrated Buwan ng Wika 2024 with the theme "Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya." The event took place on August 27-28, 2024, at the 2nd Floor of the Learning Resource Center.
The celebration featured a series of engaging programs designed to highlight the richness of Filipino language and arts:
Pagtalakay sa Komiks: Sining Biswal at Katutubong Wika included a detailed discussion on the role of comics in national education and the opening ceremony of the exhibit, "Isang Siglo ng Komiks sa Pilipinas."
August 27 Highlights: The event commenced with the National Anthem and an opening speech, followed by a choral performance and the inauguration of the comics exhibit. Participants were introduced to the art of comic creation.
August 28 Highlights: The focus shifted to regional and linguistic awareness with presentations such as "Tahanan, Tanggulan, at Tagpuan: Kasaysayang Pampook ng Bayan ng Looc," "Sa Guiting-guiting na Taluktok: Ang Buhay na Karanasan ng mga Mamumundok at ang kanilang Hangaring Bumalik sa G2," and "Ang Semantika ng Salitang โSugboโ sa Wikang Asรญ: Pagsusuri Gamit ang Sapin-sapin na Dulog." The event also included the "Development and Validation of 'Onhan' Supplementary Learning Module on Four Basic Operations on Integers" and "Folk Cookery of The Asi, Ini, and Onhan Ethnolinguistic Groups."
Attendees actively participated in discussions and engaged in an open forum following each session, deepening their understanding of Filipino culture and language.
