October 6, 2023 - Mary Joy M. Fruelda, a student from the College of Engineering and Technology, was awarded and recognized with her piece "Patuloy Lang" as one of the three finalists in the Song Category of ASEANWAVE WEBXHIBITION and FESTIVAL NATIONAL AWARDS on the recently held Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2023.
Among other institutions hailed as Honorable Mention awardees was Rizal Technological University, while the Northwest Samar State University emerged as the winner in the said category.
Ms. Fruelda, in collaboration with other CET students under the guidance of their coach, Engr. Kenreid F. Dela Vega demonstrated exceptional teamwork and dedication in the said competition. The team also recognizes the efforts of Mr. John Lester R. Baliguat, the producer of the music video.
The ICONS Awards 2023 was hosted by CHED-IAS and was participated by different higher educational institutions in the country. This event aims to recognize the relentless pursuit of initiatives in Philippine higher education.
