Romblon State University Officially Welcomes the New College of Computing, Multimedia Arts, and Digital Innovation 

November 4, 2024 - Romblon State University achieved another significant milestone with the official launch of the College of Computing, Multimedia Arts, and Digital Innovation. This new college marks RSU's commitment to digital innovation, creativity, and collaboration, aimed at advancing education and fostering global partnerships.

Themed "Innovative Synergy: Advancing Education, Innovation, and Global Partnerships for a Sustainable Digital World," the celebration was a jam-packed one-day event. It began with a motorcade around Odiongan, featuring student leaders, faculty members, and staff, symbolizing unity in embracing the new college.

The afternoon session took place at the Learning Resource Center, where the ceremonial launch of the college was held. The event saw the participation of community partners, local government officials, agency heads, alumni, students, faculty members, and RSU's top leadership.

Dr. Emelyn F. Montoya, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing the critical role of the new college in the age of digital transformation. The keynote speaker, Ms. Marcelina V. Servañez, Director of the Romblon Provincial Science and Technology Office, spoke about the urgent need for innovators in the country.

A highlight of the event was the Symbolic Launching of the College Seal, accompanied by an impressive dance mapping presentation, showcasing the college's vision and commitment to excellence in digital innovation and creative synergy.

The event also featured testimonials from RSU Alumni, sharing their journeys and experiences while expressing support for the new college.

Under the leadership of Dr. Catherine Bhel B. Aguila, the college is poised to continue advancing academic and professional excellence, contributing to the university’s mission of building an innovative institution and a hub for creative innovations. University President Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani looks forward to seeing the College of Computing, Multimedia Arts, and Digital Innovation lead the way toward a sustainable, globally connected digital world.
