October 9, 2024 โRomblon State University, in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) headed by Dr. Prospero E. De Vera III and Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) MIMAROPA, conducted an Orientation on the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP-TES) on October 09, 2024 at the University-Audio Visual Room.
The orientation participants were faculty, staff, TES and TDP-TES beneficiaries, top officials, and visitors from CHED-UniFAST MIMAROPA.
Dr. Eddie G. Fetalvero, Vice President for Research, Extension, Development, and Innovation, welcomed the visitors and all the event attendees with warm welcome remarks and inspiring words. In his message, he highlighted the importance of free higher education in today's generation.
The Lead Regional Coordinator of UniFAST MIMAROPA, Ms. Raniel G. Bacolor, also shared a short message with the participants. Mr. Harry O. Marmol, Jr., Project Technical Staff II, explained the important points of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), and Ms. Junelle B. Tamayo, Project Technical Staff I, presented the key points of the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP-TES), highlighting the importance of the subsidy and programs provided by the CHED-UniFAST to promote universal access to quality education.
The Open Forum, which highlights the orientation, was led by Ms. Raniel G. Bacolor, emphasizing the major concerns and questions of the beneficiaries. The forum gathered to exchange ideas and perspectives from the beneficiaries, while also incorporating active participation from the audience.
Atty. Glenn Niรฑo Sartillo, Vice President for Legal and Student Affairs and Services, delivered motivational closing remarks and expressed insight and gratitude for the event, reinforcing the university's vision and plans to its principal stakeholders.
In pursuit of higher education, this orientation is a testament to RSU and CHED-UniFAST MIMAROPA's efforts to ensure that every student deserves to have access to high-quality education opportunities.
