August 1, 2024 - The Romblon State University (RSU) community came together to conduct a comprehensive Clean-Up Drive. This initiative was designed to prepare the campus for the upcoming Academic Year 2024-2025 while addressing the ongoing threat of dengue fever.
The drive focused on improving environmental cleanliness, enhancing health safety, and eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites. The participation of student leaders, faculty members, and staff from across all campuses underscores the collective effort to protect the RSU communityโreferred to as RSUviansโfrom health hazards associated with dengue.
This clean-up event is also a crucial step in preparation for a university-wide misting operation scheduled for August 3, 2024. The misting operation aims to further mitigate mosquito populations and prevent the spread of dengue.
The initiative was led by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, under the guidance of Dr. Emelyn F. Montoya. Her leadership and the collaborative efforts of the RSU community reflect the universityโs commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all stakeholders.
Maintaining a clean and safe environment remains a top priority for RSU. We encourage everyone to continue supporting these efforts and stay vigilant in safeguarding our campus environment. Together, letโs keep RSU a safe and healthy place for all!
