November 10, 2024 - Romblon State University (RSU) Alumni Association Canada Chapter held its first-ever Meet and Greet with the President of RSU at 348 Bronte Street, Unit 12, Milton, Ontario. This historic event marked a significant milestone in strengthening the global RSU alumni network and fostering international collaboration.
The gathering brought together 17 participants in Milton, including 11 alumni, alongside 25 online participants from various parts of the world. Among the attendees were university officials, led by RSUโs Vice Presidents, and officers of the Federation of RSU Alumni Association, headed by Dr. Renato R. Menrige Jr..
Oathtaking of Officers: The highlight of the event was the formal oathtaking of the newly elected officers of the RSU Alumni Association Canada Chapter. The ceremony was officiated by the distinguished Guest of Honor, Commissioner Dr. Marita R. Canapi of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Chair of the RSU Board of Regents.
University Updates: The RSU President, Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani, provided important updates on university initiatives and developments, sharing the university's vision for continued academic excellence and global partnerships. This was followed by a meaningful session of bonding and discussion with the alumni, both in person and online.
This event signified the official launch of the RSU Alumni Association Canada Chapter, representing a new era of connection and collaboration among RSU alumni across the globe. The establishment of this chapter underscores the university's commitment to expanding its global reach and creating a worldwide community of support.
The RSU Alumni Association Canada Chapter is led by Mr. Raymund F. Leano, who graduated from RSU High School Main Campus (Batch 1990) and holds a Master of Arts in Education, major in Administration and Supervision (Batch 2000).
The success of this event would not have been possible without the efforts of Ms. Claire M. Montojo, a BSIT Batch 2001 graduate, who graciously hosted the gathering.
This momentous occasion marks the beginning of stronger ties between RSU and its global alumni, paving the way for continued collaboration, innovation, and support for the university's mission of academic and professional excellence.
