Production Planning assists organisations in managing all their production tasks. There are two parts to setting up Production Planning. The first is to select the applicable settings, and the second is to create the production stages.
These tutorials explain the various Settings and where to find them. It also explains how to create Production Stages.
Navigate to Main Menu > Office > My Organisation > Staff (tab) > Double-click a name to edit the record > Settings (tab).
Type Planning in the search block.
Select Yes in the Value column to grant access and No to deny access for the following settings:
Planning Board > Editing Allowed.
Planning Board > Settings - Access Allowed.
Click Save (button).
Navigate to Main Menu > Office > My Organisation > Staff (tab) > Double-click a name to edit the record > Settings (tab).
Type Planning in the search block.
Select Yes or No in the Value column based on your preference for the following setting:
Planning Board > Automatic Refresh.
If Yes is selected, the board will continuously refresh.
If No is selected, the board will only be refreshed when Refresh (button) is clicked.
Click Save (button).
Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Settings (tab).
Type Plan in the search bar.
Select Yes in the Value column next to the setting: Planning Board > Enable Timekeeping on Planning Board.
Click Save (button).
Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Settings (tab).
Type Plan in the search bar.
Select Yes in the Value column next to the setting: Planning Board > Combine Services linked to the same Cost Centre.
Click Save (button).
Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Settings (tab).
Type Plan in the search bar.
Click Edit SQL in the Value column next to the setting: Planning Board > Update Planning Board (Menu Caption & SQL).
An SQL editor is opened with the Tables, Fields and Parameters for you to customise the Menu Captions.
Note: This feature requires you to know SQL. Alternatively, contact QuickEasy Support for assistance.
Click Test (button) to test your SQL.
Click Close (button) to close the edit-SQL interface.
Click Save (button) if not greyed out.
Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Settings (tab).
Type JDF in the search block.
Fill in the applicable information in the Value column for the following settings:
JDF Switch > Artwork Folder (Linux: /FolderName/; Windows: \FolderName\): Type a path (e.g. Windows: C:\Temp\Artwork\).
JDF Switch > Caption - Custom input field 1: Type a caption.
JDF Switch > Caption - Custom input field 2: Type a caption.
JDF Switch > Caption - Custom input field 3: Type a caption.
JDF Switch > Caption - Custom input field 4: Type a caption.
JDF Switch > Caption - Custom input field 5: Type a caption.
JDF Switch > Caption - Custom input field 6: Type a caption.
JDF Switch > Enable Syspro uploads (XML): Select Yes or No.
JDF Switch > Use FTP: Select Yes or No. If yes is selected, fill in the details for these settings:
JDF Switch > FTP Host: Type the name of the Host.
JDF Switch > FTP Password: Type the FTP Password.
JDF Switch > FTP Port: Type the FTP Port (e.g. 21).
JDF Switch > FTP User: Type the FTP User Name
JDF Switch > Job Folder (Linux: /FolderName/;Windows: \FolderName\): Type the path (e.g. C:\Temp\Switch\).
Navigate to Main Menu > Office > My Organisation > Staff (tab) > Double-click a name to edit the record > Settings (tab).
Type Tracker in the search block.
Select or enter an option in the Value column for the following settings:
Tracker > Custom Firebird Stored Procedure - Create a File: Type a file name.
Tracker > Custom Firebird Stored Procedure - Execute: Type the execution file name.
Tracker > Digital Delivery Notes - Access Allowed: Select Yes to allow access, otherwise No.
Tracker > Enter a Note on Stop: Select Yes to permit the note to be entered, otherwise No.
Timekeeping: Enabled Non-Conformance Reports (NCR): Select Yes to enable NCRs, otherwise No.
Timekeeping: Select to Start/Stop WO: Select a Start-Stop method from these options:
Select from Queue (Touch): The user will touch the task and then touch start/stop.
Enter WO No. (Scan or Keypad): The user will scan a work order number or type it in.
Enter Service ID (Scan or Keypad): The user will scan or type in a Service ID.
Timekeeping: Set Status on Stop: Select an option from this list:
N/A
Confirm
Complete
Part Complete
Timekeeping: Use the Cost Centre linked to the Service: Select Yes to use the Cost Centre, otherwise No.
Tracker Login (PIN): Type a Pin number that the user will use to log into the Tracker.
Navigate to Main Menu > Office > My Organisation > Work Shifts (tab).
Click Add Work Shift (button).
Description = Type a name for the Work Shift (e.g. Day Shift, Morning Shift, Night Shift).
Click Add Day/Hours (button) and fill in the fields as follows:
Day of Week = Select a Day from the dropdown list.
Description = Type a Description (e.g. Monday - Morning).
Start = Type a Start time or use the arrows to adjust the time.
End = Type an End time or use the arrows to adjust the time.
Note: Use a 24-hour clock (e.g. type 21:00 for 9 pm).
x Rate/Hr = Type the Hourly Rate that the shift costs the organisation.
Break (Hrs) = Type the number of Hours that staff are on lunch or tea breaks.
Repeat Step 4 for the other days that are part of the shift.
Click Save (button).
You can copy an entire Work Shift and edit it. For example, if you have an early and late shift, you can create the early shift, copy it and edit the Start and End Times to create a late shift.
You can also copy individual days when editing or creating a work shift from the context menu (right-click the day you want to copy).
Navigate to Main Menu > Office > My Organisation > Work Shifts (tab).
Right click the shift you want to copy and select Copy from the context menu.
Confirm that you want to copy the shift on the popup.
Edit the Shift as needed.
Navigate to Main Menu > Office > My Organisation > Work Shifts (tab).
Right-click the shift you want to copy and select Edit from the context menu.
You can edit any of the fields by overtyping them.
You can update multiple fields as follows:
Select the fields you want to edit (use Ctrl + left click to multi-select)
Select an option next to Batch Update:
Start Time: Type a new start time in the adjacent block.
End Time: Type a new end time in the adjacent block.
x Rate/Hr: Type a rate per hour in the adjacent block.
Break (Hrs): Type the number of hours in the adjacent block.
Click Update (button)
Note: The button only shows once a Batch-Update option has been selected.
Confirm the change on the popup.
Creating a new stage this way will automatically create all the status fields for you.
Navigate to Main Menu > Production > Planning Board > Menu (button) > Edit Stages.
Click the arrow on New (button) > Default.
Fill in the information as explained under How to Create a Stage (below).
Note: You can optionally edit the Statuses.
If you create a stage this way, you must also create all the statuses.
Navigate to Main Menu > Production > Planning Board > Menu (button) > Edit Stages.
Click New (button).
Description = Type a Description for the stage (e.g. Beam Saw).
Code = Type an abbreviated description (Code) for the stage (e.g. BS).
Type = Select one of these options from the dropdown list:
Production: For this stage, an item will be manufactured or produced.
Outwork: For this stage, an item will be purchased (outsourced).
Interval Colour from = Select Start or End to select an interval colour from the Start or End Statuses.
Click Save (button) to open an additional panel on the right.
If Production was chosen as the Type, fill in the details on the panel as follows:
Workstation = Select a Workstation from the dropdown list and click Add (button).
Repeat Step 8.1 if there are additional Workstations.
Work Shift = Select a Work Shift from the dropdown list.
Check the boxes for the tracking options.
You only need to check what is applicable to the Stage.
If you do not track the separate processes, you do not need to check any of these options:
Setup
Run
Washup
If Outwork was chosen as the Type, fill in the details on the panel as follows:
Supplier = Select the Supplier from the dropdown list of suppliers that the job will be outsourced to (or purchased from) and click Add (button).
Repeat Step 9.1 to add more Suppliers.
Add Statuses by clicking Add (button) to the right of Status and fill in the details as follows:
Status = Type a description for the status.
Colour = Click the arrow and select a colour from the dropdown list.
Default = Click the block and select a default for the status from the dropdown list:
N/A: The status is not a default.
New: The status should be used for new jobs.
Planned: The status should be used for planned jobs.
Ready: The status should be used when a job is ready (i.e. all the materials are ready).
Busy: The status should be used when the job is in production.
Part Complete: This status should be used when the job is partially complete.
Complete: This status should be used when the job is complete.
Repeat Step 10 to add additional statuses. You should have at least one for every default (except N/A).
Re-order the Statuses if required by right-clicking a Status and selecting Move Up or Move Down from the context menu.
Note: It is important that Statuses are in order because some functions assign the Next or Previous Status.
Delete any of the Statuses by right-clicking a status and selecting Remove Status from the context menu.
If you want to use SQL to create descriptions for the Group field, click Menu (button) > Edit SQL for Group field:

If SQL is created, the Group SQL checkbox will be checked.
Click Save (button).
Navigate to Main Menu > Production > Planning Board > Menu (button) > Edit Stages.
Right-click the Stage you want to copy and select Copy from the context menu.
Confirm that you want to copy the stage.
Edit the new stage as required.
Navigate to Main Menu > Production > Planning Board > Menu (button) > Edit Stages.
Right-click the applicable Stage and select Edit SQL for Group field from the context menu.
On the SQL popup:
Click Template (button).
Edit the SQL as needed

Click Test (button) to verify that it is working.
Click Save (button).
