Costs refer to the expenses incurred in producing or providing a product or service, while prices refer to the amount charged for those products or services.

Summary
These fields are used when costs are calculated (e.g. in Costings and Estimates).
Direct Cost: Costs directly linked to the production of goods or services, including materials and outwork.
Fixed Cost: Fixed Costs always apply and are not adjusted per quantity.
Unit Cost: Unit Costs are multiplied by the quantity.
/: Quantity included in the Unit Price.
These fields are used for determining prices (e.g. Sell Prices)
Fixed Price: Indirect costs or overhead costs which are not dependent on the goods or services produced.
Unit Price: Price per unit depending on /unit.
/: Quantity included in the Unit Price.
Enter: Price Inclusive or Exclusive amount of VAT. Allows rounding off Price (excl.)
These fields appear on transactions such as Sales Orders, Work Orders, Customer Invoices, Supplier Invoices.
Subtotal: A line-item sum of the Total (Excl) amounts, excluding adjustments.
Adj %: An adjustment percentage. (The adjustment value is automatically calculated.)
Adjustment: An adjustment value. (The adjustment value is automatically calculated.)
Total Currency: The total amount in the transaction's currency.
Total (Excl): The line-item total in the local currency, excluding VAT.
VAT: The line-item VAT amount in the local currency.
Total (Incl): The line-item total in the local currency of the transaction, inclusive of VAT.
These fields appear on transaction or item summaries.
Profit: The profit amount per line item
GP %: Gross Profit percentage per line item
/ Unit: Price per unit after adjustment
