Sales Orders are used to manage customer orders and include details such as prices, quantities and terms.
They are used when there is a delay between receiving an order and delivering it to the Customer. For example, if the items must be produced, or a service needs to be rendered before the Customer can be invoiced.
Sales Orders can be copied from Quotations or created from scratch.

Custom
Items can be added from other Sales Orders linked to the same Customer. An error is returned if the Customer field is blank on the Sales Order.
The Qty and Prices on an Estimate item (Type = EST) are editable and can be updated from the linked Quotation if required.
Click Quote (button) to open the Quotation lookup window.
By default, the Outstanding Items for the linked Sales Orders are displayed. (See the Out Qty field). Uncheck the Outstanding checkbox to view all the items on the selected Quotation.
To select a different Quotation, enter a Quote No. This list displays all the Items linked to the Quotation and all its Versions. In this case, outstanding quantities are not applicable.
If the Quote No. is blank, all the Active Quotes for the selected Customer are displayed.
Select the Status that the quotation must be changed to.
Multi-select the items you want to add, and press Enter or click the Add button to add the items to the Sales Order.
Convert to fixed Unit Price (MUP): This feature changes items that have a Price Range based on Qty to a Fixed UnitPrice (required for part invoicing).
Sales Orders must have an Order Number, Delivery Address, and Due Date.
When creating a job that requires no producing or purchasing (just reserving stock), set the resolve to Reserve on the Sales Order. Stock is reserved until it is issued.
Copy the Sales Order to a Material Movement (Issue), set the correct location, and set the status to Issued. This process issues the stock to the sales order and updates the Inventory module.
Items on a Sales Order with the resolve of Produce should be copied to a Work Order.
Items on a Sales Order with the resolve of Purchase should be copied to a Purchase Order.
