Custom Board sizes are generally need in a packaging environment where an organisation needs a specific size packaging board or a corrugated backing board.
Typically, you only want to estimate the square meter of the board and create the sheet in materials when the Quotation is accepted.
When a sheet with blank Depth and Width is added to a Standard Estimate (As a Substrate), the Sheet Size will assume the Work Size.
When the Quotation is accepted, you can create the sheet in Materials as follows:
Right click the substrate and select: Add to Materials.
A Material item is created with the Sheet size used in the Estimate.
If the linked Material sizes are not blank, the software assumes that a material item has already been created and an error message is returned.
The board used for estimating needs to be created in a Material Category where Type = Sheets.
Leave the Depth and the Width fields blank.
The Supplier price must be created in sqm or kg so it will adjust to the required size.
If the default Unit on the Material is ea (each), the Quantity will be converted to each when the Work Order is made without first creating the Sheet in Materials.
