Candy Apple Recipe

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup water

  • ½ cup corn syrup

  • 1 ½ cups sugar

  • 1 tsp red food colouring (optional)

  • 6 apples (with popsicle sticks inserted into the centres)


Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Put the water, corn syrup and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Let boil, without stirring, until the temperature reaches 310 ℉ on a candy thermometer.

  3. Remove from the heat and add the food colouring if using. (Be careful, the sugar will be very hot).

  4. To coat the apples, tilt the saucepan carefully and dip the apples into the syrup one at a time, turning to coat evenly. Let any extra syrup drip off in the pan. Once coated, place the apples on the baking sheet to cool.
