Introduction
Welcome back to another issue of The Raven’s Call, this month we had quite a lot going on, as we do every month, here at our wonderful school! Read on to see what exactly went on:
Both Panels
Spirit Week:
This week (October 27 - 31) is a spirit week. Be sure to dress up and show your school spirit!
Books and Breakfast
Wednesday, October 29 is the first Books and Breakfast of the school year. Books and Breakfast is a chance to enjoy some free food and talk about a book. It starts at 8:00 am in the library. If you miss this event, don't worry, the next one is coming Wednesday, December 10. Come to the library for more information.
PD Day
Friday, November 7 is a PD Day for both panels. Enjoy an extra day to sleep in.
Sports:
Fall Sports are well underway and winter sports are about to begin. Be sure to keep an ear out to the morning announcements for more information.
Extra-Curriculars
Are you looking for ways to get involved around the school? Are you bored at lunch time? There are tons of extra-curricular possibilities here at Longfields. Listen to the announcements, read the posters around the school, check out the display board in the atrium.
Secondary
Grade 9s - Wednesday, November 5 is Take Your Kid to Work Day. Be sure to hand in your permission form to participate!
Grade 10s - If you are taking grade 10 science this semester you will be writing the Ontario Literacy Test during your science class the week of November 24 - 27. If you have science next semester, you will write it then. If you are a grade 10 and don't have science at all this year, make sure to check in with your guidance counsellor.
LDH Grads
Grads, be sure to keep an eye on the Grads 2026 Google Classroom for information about your senior year. You don't want to miss out on any experiences to make this year memorable.
That's it for this month Ravens, thank you for reading! Check back next month for more information.
